Sherman Knight Sr. Vice President

Sherman is responsible for CPV’s energy management functions. He manages the daily interaction between commodity traders, logistics, plant personnel and control areas to maximize gross margins while setting price-risk and operational-risk tolerances for CPV’s portfolio of generation assets and their associated fuel-supply, load and transmission contracts. In addition, he has overall responsibilities for originating physical and financial tolling agreements, setting and executing forward hedging strategies within stated collateral limits as well as negotiating and entering into long-term gas transportation and storage agreements to meet the fuel supply requirements for 5,500 MW of generation assets located in New England, New York, PJM, MISO and WECC.

Sherman was Director, Portfolio Management at PG&E National Energy Group through March 2003 where he was responsible for the daily commercial optimization and fuel supply contracting of over 7,000 MW of gas, oil, coal, and hydro capacity.

Sherman holds an MBA from Columbia Business School at Columbia University , MS in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University .
