Natural Gas Generation Development
With a development and financing track record of more than 6,100 MW of greenfield independent power projects, CPV has the most talented development team in North America
Backed by more than $300 million in development funding from Warburg Pincus, CPV has embarked on an aggressive development program for clean, natural gas power generation facilities; both combined-cycle and peaking units. The Company has directed its development effort at regions in the U.S. and Canada that need new clean generating capacity.
In creating projects, CPV balances the demands of system reliability, project economics and social responsibility. CPV does not shy away from markets with rigorous permitting and operational criteria – frequently the markets with the greatest need for efficient, reliable state-of-the-art capacity.
CPV has vast experience in all phases of development:
- Project conceptualization;
- Market analysis;
- Community and government relations;
- Permitting (local, state and federal);
- Financing;
- Construction and commercial operation.
The CPV team also has a long and successful track record in the sale, finance and acquisition of power plants with a combined transactional experience of over 25,000 MW. CPV’s professionals have demonstrated a special ability to successfully permit, finance and build power generation facilities in complex environments and markets.
CPV believes in creating projects that mesh with host communities in which they are sited. CPV’s approach to development is one of openness and interaction. CPV believes that active and engaged dialogue about projects is the best approach for all of the stakeholders, and ultimately for the success of the project itself.
We deal with the highest quality equipment and service suppliers and seek out professionals with the strong knowledge of the localities in which we operate. Together, we put together projects that are clean, reliable, efficient, safe, economically viable and of lasting benefit to their community and the local power market.
A key success factor is the close, personal involvement of the company's principals and management in the process. We believe in straight talk and hard work as the best means of getting things done. We believe it shows in our very high percentage of successful development projects.
