CPV: An Energy Company for America's Future
People need energy. From washing machines to microwaves to computer servers, American lives are increasingly being powered by electricity. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration the average American now meets approximately 40 percent of their total energy needs through electricity.
Environmental loading, availability and price of fuel, the cost to construct new state-of-the-art power facilities, these are all major challenges that make it increasingly complex to meet the growing collective needs of our electronic and automated lives.
To meet this challenge, CPV harnessed many of the best minds in the energy industry to answer a fundamental question: How can we provide the power America needs, while preserving the environment and quality of life America loves? It is a question we began answering nine years ago and continue to answer every day.
The solutions we pursue are the ones that make the most technological, economic and environmental sense based upon our collective knowledge throughout the industry. To date, we have focused on operating and developing a next-generation fleet of natural gas and wind-powered electric generating facilities.
While we work to support the development of renewable energy sources, we are also building the cleanest natural gas-powered energy facilities in world. These facilities are necessary to balance out the variable nature of renewable energy facilities, but at the same time replace dirty, outdated power plants that are powered by coal and oil. Our nation is on its way to a clean energy future and we believe that domestically-obtained natural gas, wind and solar power are the bridge to that future.
CPV is dedicated to increasing America’s sustainability; both economically and environmentally. Using energy sources that are domestically available, like wind and natural gas, and partnering with host communities to support their tax base and school districts, works to stabilize and improve local and state economies. The thousands of jobs created by construction and operation of these energy facilities will directly improve American lives through well-paying positions and the secondary (or ripple) effects from worker spending at local establishments.
Creating sustainable economies is only responsible if environmental sustainability is also a priority. CPV views energy development as a win-win for both the people and their environment only when such development reduces air pollution and water consumption, while supplying us with the electricity that continuously improves our quality of life. There is no single solution to creating a clean energy future, but with our core mission grounded in environmental sustainability and stewardship, CPV is an energy company dedicated to the betterment of America’s future.
